IPSC matches are based on the principles of accuracy, power and speed. Participation in these matches will develop a high degree of safety and proficiency, as well as providing an exciting means of recreation.
IPSC recognizes all the shooting disciplines – Handgun, Rifle, Shotgun, and Action Air. IPSC athletes need to blend accuracy, power, and speed into a winning combination.
IPSC Rules form the basis of our sport, as does the rules for any sport. The Rules set standards for competition around the world and ensure safety and good order in our sport.
IPSC competitors are able to compete not only on a level playing field with the same size “goal posts”, but do it anywhere in the world. Matches consist of individual stages and can be organized in any of the recognized disciplines.
Held at the Protea Hotel in Klerksdorp, South Africa, on Saturday, 20 September 2025, this year’s IPSC General Assembly was filled with important discussions, updates, and exciting decisions for the future of IPSC.
