The White House blocked an Associated Press reporter from attending an event in the Oval Office after demanding the news agency alter its style on the Gulf of Mexico, which President Donald Trump has ordered renamed to the Gulf of America.

The Associated Press said the White House barred its reporter from Tuesday’s Oval Office executive order signing because of the AP style guidance on using the name Gulf of Mexico versus Gulf of America.

The Associated Press said it was blocked from covering President Donald Trump’s executive order signing today because it declined to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America in its editorial style standards.
