Evacuations have been ordered for some Eagle County residents on Wednesday as the Derby Fire experienced "significant growth overnight."

New evacuation orders are in effect in Eagle County in response to the overnight growth of the Derby Fire, the Garfield County Sheriff's Office said.

A wildfire burning in a difficult-to-access area of the White River National Forest in Eagle County more than tripled in size Tuesday, prompting closures and evacuations, fire officials said.
