Trey Hendrickson missed the Cincinnati Bengals’ Week 11 game against the Steelers on Sunday, and now we learn that he’s dealing with what used to be called a sports hernia, and is now known as a “core muscle injury.” According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the injury will require surgery, but Hendrickson is attempting to push that to the offseason.

Ian Rapoport reports that Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson is looking to avoid surgery as he heals from a core injury.

The Bengals made a deal on the Nov. 4 trade deadline day but not the blockbuster some pundits called for, which was to part ways with Hendrickson, one of the best pass rushers in recent years. Instead, the 4 p.m. deadline came and went Nov. 4 and Hendrickson was not traded.
