Former Maple Leafs forward David Kampf has officially found himself a new NHL home, signing a 1-year deal with a rival Canadian club.

David Kampf became an unrestricted free agent following the termination of his contract with the Maple Leafs after he cleared unconditional waivers. Initially, Kampf was carrying a cap hit of $2.4 million,

The Toronto Maple Leafs remain without forward David Kampf, who was suspended after leaving the AHL’s Toronto Marlies without permission earlier this week. Kampf, 30, cleared waivers in October and was assigned to the Marlies, where he recorded one assist in four games before walking away.
