Lawyers for the Trump administration told the Supreme Court their SNAP appeal was moot after the president signed a funding bill to resume full payments for the food aid program.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program “clients who already received partial benefits will receive the rest of their monthly amount on or after Nov. 14,” according to the agency’s updated guidance. “For SNAP clients who receive benefits on or after the 14th of the month, full benefits will be issued on their normal issuance date.”
The government shutdown caused a panic among recipients, but the monthly budgeting issues go back 50 years and may get worse.
With the federal government shutdown over, Illinois officials said people who rely on food stamps will begin receiving their full SNAP benefits for November within the next week, and those payments couldn't come sooner for families who previously received only partial payments.
