A fighter jet fell into the Red Sea from the USS Harry S. Truman, injuring one sailor. An F/A-18 fighter jet rolled off the side of the USS Harry S. Truman and into the Red Sea, according to the Office of the Navy Chief of Information.

The U.S. has had numerous encounters with Houthi fighters targeting commercial vessels in the Red Sea since 2023. U.S.-led bombing strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen began in January 2024. Those efforts have intensified under the Trump administration.
