Rhode Island authorities admitted on Wednesday that the Brown University gunman “could be anywhere” after five days of searching for the killer – but insisted they aren’t discouraged about the slow pace of their investigation.

The search for a person of interest is intensifying in Providence, Rhode Island as authorities release a new image of an individual they say could have relevant information to the investigation.

The enhanced video offers sharper images of a masked man walking purposefully through Providence neighborhoods, possibly casing the area before the attack, according to police.
