Friday marks one year since Zambada, one of Mexico 's most infamous accused drug lords, was arrested at an airfield near El Paso, Texas, along with one of El Chapo's sons, Joaquin Guzman Lopez.

Ismael Zambada Garcia was arrested last year in a bizarre and mysterious situation after he was brought to the U.S. in a private plane by one of El Chapo's sons.

El Mayo's son took a differing path. Jesús Vicente Zambada Niebla, known as "El Vicentillo," turned on the cartel and is now in witness protection, the ABC 7 I-Team has learned.
