Eli Lilly shares gained Tuesday as results from a new study moved the drugmaker closer to applying for approval of its experimental weight-loss pill.

On the charts, LLY has been climbing since its August 8th 52-week low of $623.78, heading for its 10th gain in the last 12 sessions. The shares are still down 24.9% year over year and 7.5% year to date, however.

New data from Eli Lilly says its daily, oral GLP-1 pill may help people who have obesity and people who have Type 2 diabetes lose a significant amount of weight.
