KU basketball receives lowest ranking in preseason AP poll since 2008-09 season

In the previous two seasons, the Jayhawks were ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll. KU's preseason ranking is the lowest since the 2008-09 season, when KU was ranked No. 24. Kansas has been ranked outside the top 10 in a preseason poll just once since that time (No. 13 in 2011-12). The Jayhawks made the national championship game that season.
