The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating a fatal confined space incident last Sunday aboard the freight barge Waynehoe approximately 25 miles northwest of Ketchikan.
The U.S. Coast Guard responded to a fatal emergency Sunday that occurred inside a confined space on a barge in Skowl Arm, northwest of Ketchikan.
Two of the four crewmembers in the confined space were recovered and are in stable condition. The other two were recovered and later died. The investigation is ongoing.
