AccuWeather's forecast map for the winter storm on Tuesday shows 1 to 3 inches of snow across northwestern New Jersey.
For the holiday, lake-effect snow is likely to develop downwind of the Great Lakes. “Those traveling on Thanksgiving Day around the Great Lakes region may have to contend with typical lake-effect snow showers, which can result in reduced visibility and slippery travel,” Duff said.
According to AccuWeather’s forecast map for Wednesday, states with the poorest travel conditions include Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. “Fair” conditions are expected along the East Coast and Northwest, as well as parts of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado. Much of the remainder of the country will see good conditions, the map showed.
Strong, gusty winds are expected for New Jersey through Friday with gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph as forecasters continue to track the potential for a winter storm early next week. Winds will increase around midday Friday, with the strongest gusts occurring during the afternoon hours.

While a chill from Canada will affect parts of Florida on Thanksgiving, South Florida will be one of the few areas feeling the heat.

On Friday at 7:59 p.m. a special weather statement was released by the National Weather Service until 10 p.m. for Northern Worcester as well as Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties.
