A winter storm watch is in effect for Eastern Franklin, Northern Worcester, Northwest Middlesex, Western Franklin, Western Hampshire, Western Hampden, Eastern Hampshire, Eastern Hampden, Southern Worcester, Central Middlesex, and Western Essex counties.
Boston's weather today includes rain and snow with a cold front leading to icy roads and frigid temperatures later in the week.
Some parts of Massachusetts are expected to see a heavy snow storm starting on Tuesday, according to National Weather Service forecasts -- with some impacts hitting the Boston area.
A slushy coating to 2 inches of snow is expected to fall in areas outside of Boston. Parts of Worcester County will see 2 to 4 inches of snow, and northern Worcester County and points west can expect closer to 4 to 8 inches.

As for snow, let's go for 55"-65" of snow in Boston, and 75"-85" of snow in Worcester. While the coldest air relative to average may be in December through mid-January, I think some of our biggest snows could come in the second half as the pattern relaxes somewhat.
