Yankees manager Aaron Boone says both Giancarlo Stanton and Trent Grisham are both behind in their training but is hopeful they'll be able to catch up prior to Opening Day. He remains undecided about his infield alignment but Boone feels the six potential candidates for the leadoff spot will play a major role in his decision.

SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino says he would be surprised if an agreement on a contract extension between Aaron Boone and the Yankees were not completed by the season opener. He does raise the question of whether GM Brian Cashman will also sign an extension before his contract expires at the end of the 2026 season.
