Chevy Chase says quitting ‘SNL’ during peak success ‘was a mistake’
“It was a mistake to leave SNL,” the 82-year-old comedian said in the trailer. Chase was a staple in the show’s inaugural season in 1975 and was the first host of the long-running “Weekend Update,” which has had many hosts in the last 50 years, including Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers. It is now hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che.
