SHANGHAI (Reuters) -Pop Mart executives said on Wednesday they are optimistic about opportunities for the firm's proprietary art toys, including smash hit ugly-cute Labubu doll, to star in animated films and theme park attractions.
Based in Beijing, Pop Mart operates over 500 stores in over 30 countries, as well as over 2,300 Robo Shops (blind box vending machines). The brand opened its first store in the U.S. in 2023.
Pop Mart executives express optimism about opportunities for their art toys, including the Labubu doll, to feature in animated films and theme park attractions. Following record half-year results, the company is also considering geographic expansion into emerging markets like the Middle East and South America.
