Google will rename the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska's Denali on its maps for users in the U.S. following President Trump's controversial executive order.
Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum sent a letter to Google contesting the tech giant’s decision to comply with US President Donald Trump’s order to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.
Google Maps will change the name of "Gulf of Mexico" to "Gulf of America" once it is officially updated in the U.S. Geographic Names System, Google said in an X post on Monday.

However, according to the statement, Yandex Maps tries to keep track of synonyms for its search data base, so it will be possible to find the place by either of the two names
