Nvidia's last-gen mid-range 40-series gaming GPU finally takes top spot in the Steam Hardware survey, nearly two years after its release.

It sounds like success, but Nvidia's careful wording masks how little there is that's actually worth bragging about.

Nvidia is revealing today that it has sold more RTX 50-series GPUs than 40-series during the first five weeks of launch. While we don’t have exact figures, Nvidia has supplied a chart that claims it has shipped 2x in that same amount of time.
