Team India faces a huge setback with Jasprit Bumrah being forced to miss the Champions Trophy due to a back injury.

India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy after failing to recover from a lower back injury in time for the tournament, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) announced on Tuesday.

Jasprit Bumrah had suffered a back spasm during the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney and failed to recover from it in time to be included in India’s final squad for the ICC Champions Trophy, in which Harshit Rana has been included as his replacement.

India’s prospects at the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy got a major jolt with pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of the tournament on Tuesday. Bumrah has a lower back injury suffered during the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Sydney last month and has been out of action since.
