NWS Raleigh issued a flood advisory for Edgecombe and Wilson counties Monday night that is scheduled to expire at 11:45 p.m.

Police, who referred to the case as a homicide, identified the man who was found dead as Darryl Jay Barnes III, 34, of Wilson.

The crash was reported just before 8:20 p.m. along New Hope Road near Skycrest Road, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
