It’s forecast to be heavy in a few spots across the state, with the very southwest corner of Michigan under a Winter Weather Advisory that could bring up to 5 inches of snow. A couple areas of the Upper Peninsula are also in the 3 to 6-inch snow forecast zone.
On Thursday at 7:50 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a lake effect snow warning in effect until Friday at 10 a.m. for Southern Erie.
Snow will first start in our northwest spots like Houghton Lake, Harrison, and Clare as it migrates in from the west. Starting time is around 6 AM. As this steady snow moves in, roads will turn slick up north. We expect main roads to be more slushy, but it should accumulate easier on unpaved roads.
