Gerard Butler & O'Shea Jackson Jr. Expected To Return
Amazon and Lionsgate have struck a streaming deal to have as many as 20 Lionsgate theatrical releases stream on Prime Video each year.
Prime Video will exclusively stream Lionsgate’s 2026 slate of films.
Lionsgate filed an amended registration with the SEC taking into account changes requested by the Commission and moving closer to a split of Studios and Starz.
John Wick: Under the High Table is the project in the franchise I’m most looking forward to seeing, so I’ll be happy to watch it wherever it ends up. But considering that Lionsgate and Prime Video will be cozy with each other for the foreseeable future, it’d be a missed opportunity for them not to collaborate on this series.
The agreement will see titles like ‘Now You See Me 3’ and ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ land on the streamer after leaving cinemas and Starz’s earlier exclusive first-run window.
Starting in 2026, Prime Video will also be able to select premium titles from Lionsgate’s catalog, including such premium franchises as John Wick, Twilight, Divergent, Saw and Emmy-winning TV series like Nurse Jackie and Weeds, among others.
Sunrise on the Reaping,’ the Michael Jackson biopic and ‘Ballerina’ are among studio titles headed to Starz's premium channels and services.
Starting in 2026, Prime Video will also be able to select premium titles from Lionsgate’s catalog, including the studio’s premium properties and iconic franchises such as “John Wick,” “Twilight,” “Divergent,” “Saw” and Emmy-winning television series like “Nurse Jackie” and “Weeds,” among others, to bring to its Prime members.
Den Of Thieves introduced the world to Butler’s Detective Nick O’Brien, a.k.a. Big Nick, a brash cop who crossed paths with a criminal mastermind, Donnie (Jackson). In the sequel, the rivals move from opposite sides of the law to the same team as Nick joins Donnie’s crew in Europe for his latest score.
Pantera grossing close to $50M around the globe, Lionsgate, Tucker Tooley Entertainment and Gerard Butler‘s G-BASE are putting Den of Thieves 3 into active development. Butler is eyeing a return along with O’Shea Jackson.
Sure, the company used to offer its own streaming service, but nowadays, unless you pay for a Starz subscription where Lionsgate films premier for streaming, you may come up empty-handed with any other legal way to watch that content on your favorite streaming device.
