Head coach Marco Sturm provided an update on Charlie McAvoy on Monday after the Bruins star took a puck to the face against the Canadiens.

A redirected shot on a Montreal power play jumped up and hit Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy in the face. Players on both teams motioned to the Boston bench, and medical staff came onto the ice in a hurry. The Bruins announced that McAvoy wouldn’t return early in the third period.

Charlie McAvoy and David Pastrnak will attempt to lead the Boston Bruins to their eighth-straight win when the team takes the ice against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night. However, they aren’t the only team looking to win their eighth-straight game in the New England region.
