U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi touted progress in talks for a trade deal between the two countries, their offices said on Monday, as New Delhi rushes to avoid U.S.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance arrived in India Monday, where he is expected to talk trade with Prime Minister Narendra Modi when the two later meet.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. Vice President JD Vance on April 21st praised the ‘significant’ progress made in trade talks between the two countries during Vance’s–rather more personal–visit to India.
