Akie Iwai was right back on top of the leaderboard in the CPKC Women’s Open on Thursday, four days after her breakthrough victory in the Portland Classic. Iwai closed her afternoon round at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club with birdies on the par-4 eighth and ninth holes for a 7-under 64 and a two-stroke lead.

Deng, who won the U.S. Junior Girls Championship last month, is making her LPGA Tour debut. Perhaps playing at home is giving Brooke Henderson the momentum she needs to get back to top form. The Canadian star shot a 5-under 66 to make a big move up the leaderboard Friday at the CPKC Women’s Open in Mississauga, Ont.

The LPGA Tours only stop in Canada is the CPKC Womens Open, scheduled for August 21-24 at the Mississaugua Golf Country Club in Mississauga, Ontario, featuring Benedetta Moresco
