Mac Jones has emerged as ‘prime’ trade candidate in 2026
Jones signed a two-year, $8.4 million deal in the offseason to be Purdy’s backup and has certainly outplayed that contract so far. He’s shown that he could potentially be a starter once again in the NFL. So, it’s no surprise that Jones is getting some interest around the NFL, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Mac Jones, who is fresh off a 319-yard, three-TD passing effort in his last game, will lead the San Francisco 49ers against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11 on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET in Glendale, Arizona.
Jones has played so well that he’s easily exceeded the expectations of his teammate George Kittle, who admitted he did not think Jones would be playing at this level when he joined the 49ers on a two-year deal this past offseason.
