The Miami Heat were linked to a Damian Lillard pursuit many times in the past. Now they might actually have a chance to land him.

On Tuesday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that the Milwaukee Bucks are waiving Lillard, buying out the rest of the $113 million that the star was owed. Shortly after, it would be noted that Miami is “expected to have interest” in the 34-year-old, according to Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press.

Myles Turner has agreed to a four-year deal to join the Milwaukee Bucks, who are waiving nine-time All-Star Damian Lillard to make the acquisition happen.

After missing out on superstar Kevin Durant, the Miami Heat may be desperate to acquire a star player and bolster their core to compete in the East next season.
