Strong winds in the Texas Panhandle are being blamed for several car crashes and downed power lines. Gusts are blowing faster than 80 miles per hour in some places. The dust kicked up by the winds are expected to reach North Texas.

"The bottom line remains: It's going to be flat out windy Friday morning into early afternoon, when the Panhandles can expect 30-40 mph sustained winds. The track of the upper level storm system will then dictate who sees the highest gusts of 60 to 70+ mph," NWS Amarillo wrote on X.

The strongest winds will be blasting across parts of West Texas and the Panhandle, where gusts could reach 80 mph Friday afternoon.
