How to prep your bare woodwork. Here’s my process when prepping woodwork. After a light sand down I always apply knotting solutions first and then get them primed up before applying any caulk or filler. Bare woodwork will soak up the moisture out of the caulk and filler causing cracking so this avoids any issues. Once your bare woodwork is primed you can apply another coat all over the preprimed frame too so all the woodwork is undercoated. Then lightly sand with a sanding sponge inbetween coats
